Why have Ireland a Good chance of Winning the Rugby World Cup

Are Ireland going to win it?

Yes

image

We shouldn’t be looking at the semis of the World Cup, we shouldn’t have annihilated a strong Canadian team who had spent three months with their army forces in preparation, we shouldn’t be feared by every other rugby playing nation in either hemisphere…

BUT WE ARE. We are feared. We are an Irish army that will beat every other team fairly that steps on the battle field with us. We know we will dominate any player that runs at us. If you step on to a pitch and you are wearing the number 4 or 5, you know you are one v one with Paul O’Connell…and you already know he is going to win.

The thing about this #WCup is that this will also happen with numbers 1 – 22. And there is nothing England or Wales or Australia or South Africa or France can do about it.

They know we are coming, they know they are going to lose… they know they’ll give everything they have…and they will still be beaten. They just know… and their supporters know it too.

We are a neutral country by trade. We don’t go to war.  We don’t fight with guns to kill. We basically don’t go out looking for a fight. We help and welcome other countries to our shores with music and warmth and they, in return, welcome any Irish citizen to theirs. But on the sporting field, when other teams come to us, we destroy them physically and mentally and then we shake their hands after and (if they can lift their hands) they shake back and a mutual respect is formed that correlates into business, tourism, economics etc etc etc.

New Zealand have had this edge for years. They know how to win at all costs. Be it an illegal tackle on Brian O’Driscoll, a destruction of a team 100-0 or an edgy 18-8 win over Argentina, they just know how to win. Kilkenny Hurling team are similar.

But New Zealand also remember 1978 when they were beaten by Munster in Thomond park. Alone it Stands was written about the game and another play may be about to be written.

We feel rugby and winning in our bones. We remember by heart and place the 2007 Six Nations match in Crokers v England, David Connelly’s goal in 1995, Ray Houghton in 1994, Packie Bonner and David O’Leary in 1990, Roy Keane, Dennis Irwin, Ian Harte, Gary Kelly, Sean Kelly, Conor McGregor, Arthur Lanigan O’Keeffe, Anthony Daly, Ollie Baker or Jamsie O’Connor to Christy O’Connor, Des Smyth, Harrington, McGinley, McIlroy, Clarke, McGuigan, Taylor, Carruth, O’Sullivan…you name it, we’ve done it…And we’ve beaten you.

And this team will beat you. The thing is that our boys don’t feel the pressure of their nation weighing them down. They know that we’ll be supporting them no matter what so that brings a certain relief to their play. They can practice set moves with elaborate flicks because Joe Schmidt (An Irish citizen now) has drawn them up and they have been executed to perfection many times.

That poor English team know they’ll get boo-ed if they come home without a quarter final spot…again. They know they have to succeed or they’ll be lynched. That doesn’t work here. And that doesn’t breed positive, non-drop goal play.

New Zealand had a population of just under 4.5 million people in 2013. Ireland stood at 4.59 million people in the same year. And both teams are number one and two in the world. What right do we have to beat England or Australia or the USA or anyone time and time again.

I’ll tell you why we have the right: because on that field, you pick your best 22, we’ll pick ours… and we’ll see who wins the fight. You already know the answer and so do we. But can you stop it? I just don’t think your team has the bottle. I know we play that Swing Low, Sweet Chariot song in our headphones before we go out…just to get up for the match.

We love rugby, it’s in our blood. Lansdowne Road, Croke Park, Thomond Park, Musgrave and Raven Hill, Galway Sportsground…you tell me one player that doesn’t want to play there just to hear our fans and your fans respect each other enough to sing songs over each other or become silent together to watch a kick from either side.

We’ll beat your team though…because we believe we will.

TPJ Predictions: Quarters: SA v Wales/England (Twickenham Sat 17th), NZ v France (Cardiff Sat 17th), Ireland v Argentina (Cardiff Sun 18th oooh), Australia v Scot/USA (Twick Sun 18th)

Semi Finalists – New Zealand v Aust (Twick Sat 24th), Ireland v Wales (Twick Sun 25th),

Third Place Playoff – Aus v Wales (Olympic Stadium Fri 30th)

Final – Ireland v New Zealand (Twickenham Sat 31st)

Winner – who knows on the day, hopefully us. Just wish it wasn’t in England and they didn’t charge so much for tickets. Greed is bad. Sport is good.

The collision of two worlds, means the collision of beliefs that differ, resulting in the collision of the same stories seen through eyes of opposing perspectives.

My world is respective, its conservative touch is affective, and has left me with beliefs even I do not believe in. He makes me even.
His world a production of his own creation. Alterations to what he’s been taught at home and at school, due to his open mind and rear view…he’s come up with his own ideologies…he enlightens me. Allowing me to see things differently. Slanting my images of the corruption I was surrounded by, only to simplify, and allow me to rectify my personal ability, to see the world that I was born into, using beautiful imagery.
The fears and insecurities molded in my mind, due to his invested time, are slowly turning. The wheels of the misunderstood trail of thought I possess are churning, transforming from dark patches to grey matter resonating in my mind, he’s turned my misconception of the world blind, and has opened my senses.
He allows me to feel rather than merely explaining the feeling to me. He puts me in situations where no one will speak for me, but myself. And when I open my mouth to utter my experience aloud, no one is judging me in the endless crowd of judgments that I’m used to. I now share his point of view. I now see the world in shapes and colours, no one like him before even bothered to guide me through…but what do you expect from people when they come from the same educational system as you.
I am not saying that I think close-mindedly, for I come from an overly expressive, free, spiritual family. One that stands out from the usual family structure, where both my parents left us to be from the time we turned able. Gave us the freedom to make mistakes and disable ourselves, piece by piece, thought by thought, whether we chose to let the criticism by others get to us or not..they allowed us to make our own judgments of what we thought the world to be.
‘If it makes sense to you and serves you well, apply it’ my father always said, never allowing us to be spoon-fed.
I may share many beliefs as you, but I will admit to the fact that certain beliefs I have are skewed. However, there is no one to blame, and no one to point my unsure fingers at. At times, society plays a role, and you do not realise, that the people surrounding you affect your pre-calculations.
But he….he doesn’t try to change me, nor does he tell me I’m wrong. He just speaks with a truthful tongue, revealing the truth that my lost mind longs.
He makes sense to me. Even if this goes against my roots and societal conformity.
He contributes to my unanswered ideologies.
He merely speaks, and I chose whether to allow his words to take over me.

Finding… You

Finding… You

red walk

Right from the start I knew that I was different.

But being different isn’t bad.. its’ just hard work..
Making people believe every day
Some believe on in god and some simply pray.
Life is like a rainbow
At least it is because I say so,
Find your favorite colour
and the rest will find you
This is me,
This is life
and it will be alright..
Because i decided to win this fight
They tell you that the grass is greener on the other side
that u need to fly to touch the sky
You know what i say to when i hear all that:
IT´S MY LIFE
I decide which way to go,
I will make it but I if I want to go slow..
take a step or take a break
But wherever I go I’ll be awake
I touched the edge
and I do not wish go back,
Even the dark side is more than just black…
You will see it, when you get there…a Rainbow
Rainbow Starting

Word of Mouth is a spoken word event held in Kingston, London every fortnight of the month.  It all began when Kenny Kensei, a spoken word artist and rapper from New York, who attended Kingston University wanted to create a platform for artists of all sorts to have their voice heard.

Alongside the performers there are artists showcasing their work, whilst some live art is being created during the night.Word of Mouth started off with performances from Kingston university students and locals around kingston town, however it has grown and expanded to welcome performers from around London, and of all ages.

Every event has its own theme or is raising awareness about a certain cause happening around London and worldwide. This Tuesday the 15th, WOM held a charity event for the Macmillan Cancer Support organisation. It’s been amazing watching it grow and develop into what it is now…and its all because of Kenny Kensei AKA Kenneth Farward, the kid from New York that came to London and made a huge difference, along with the team he put together. In October, WOM will be celebrating its one year anniversary.

Wish we got more photos! But there’s always next time.

Rochie and Faria were shooting a spoken word video outside Camden tube station two nights ago. Polis was on camera and the girls were in front with the Tiger. We just wanted to see who would interactive.

Out of the blue, up walks a brilliant freestyler with his boys and lays down an unbelievable few verses to the chorus.
