Review: Tiger Paws Junior’s Stories ***** 5 Stars

Modern Robot
Modern Robot, 22.40 C Nova

This is going to be a short review.

I saw this piece of theatre about six days ago. It was just I haven’t had time to review it yet. All I can say about it is that I needed it.

These two performers, a Scottish drummer (left) and an American guitarist (right) play the score, live on stage, to a 1926 film.

That’s all I need to say. It’s a five star show.

I you are having a bad day and want to chill out for an hour, these performers take you into the story and bring it to life with their music.

One almost forgets that they are there because, because of their music, you get interested and invested in the story of the film.

The music lulls you into the emotions of the characters in the film and softly and subtly tells you what they are feeling. Speaking to them afterwards, both performers assured me that the music changes constantly depending on their own mood. What a great piece of improvisation and confidence in one’s own performance to be able to change it so fluidly.

Go see the show if you want to relax and enjoy great performance art. Or if you love old silent movies.
