A Sonnet for the Release of Art

Listening to the Air
Listening to the Air

A Sonnet for the Release of Art

Hear me now, being silent is boring

If it’s inside you, why not get it out

If it is a soft whisper or a shout

Art is art, no matter the story-ing –

Yeats’s soft dreams or Dali’s slippy ticks,

Would have never been seen if they hadn’t,

Trusted the world to do what it mightn’t

And chosen to give them to other critics.

Released means trapped and then flown from one’s mind

A blank page filled with your beautiful thoughts,

You might not think them beauty but maybe

They help someone else – maybe they will find

The meaning of inspiration for taught

This might make them smile, because of your glee.
