Elaine Gavin, Artist, Ennis
This is a painting she’s worked hard on and I fancy
That this elephants entrance is part of elephant fantasy,
The mothers look quiet, their babies protected,
The old ones welcomed, their fathers never rejected,
Their family tight, often closer than humans,
With no disposable words, communication ends up bloomin’,
Elephants have thick skin being separate, but are stronger as a unit,
They stride for each other, strength never ruins it but…
With their tusks and their trunks they can sound war in a blink,
But they possess resolve and goodness, and they drink soft and lightly think,
For together they may be separate, for one of them is for all
For they will always remember the hunters barbarous call
If you don’t like them, don’t paint them…She likes them so she does,
You cannot mock the beautiful craft of the painting, a spirit animal because…
We love it here. Elephants are awesome…like Tigers…and animals…
They don’t need to use words…words are for cannibals.

We love collaborations here…sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. But what is for sure is that nobody can accuse us of not trying xx
